Ali Taraghijah (son)
Biography:

Born: Tehran 1976, Studied at the department of Fine Arts University in Tehran. He had solo shows in 2002-2003 (at Golestan Gallery) and more than 19 Collective shows during last 4 years. He had also exhibited 2003 in Kuwait and Switzerland.

Ali Taraghijah, showed a flair for art, drawing and painting at an early age since he is the son of Mohammad Ali Taraghijah, the well-known Iranian painter and artist. Ali Taraqijah Spoke to IRAN NEWS on the eve of his exhibition at Golestan Gallery , and said: "The influence of my father on my ability to handle colors and painting is irrefutable." "But there is a vast difference in our work althoug it is for others to judge," he added. "Art galleries wouldn't have welcomed my work if I was merely copying existing compositions of my father," said the young artist. He admitted that Mohammad Ali Taraghijah exerted considerable influence on his career but the youg artist is unique in his approach to life and art since he insists on living his own imprint on his work. "I like sketching and I prefere it to painting," he said, and added: "I like to study the subject mattcr but sketching and painting are inextricably related." Every artist must sketch out his theme before beginning to paint, he said. At times the two can mix and some parts of the canvas could be painted while other areas could remain as sketches and drafts, he added. He listens to comments and criticism but he isn't hypersensitive. He concluded that he appreciates constructive remarks.
